Richard Asbury's work explores a realm where spirituality and science are reunited by the study of mythology and nature. Inspiration is drawn from ancient symbology as well as modern-day physics and observance of the seasons and planetary motion. Forces of nature, facets of the human condition, and biological processes are symbolised or personified to express the relevance of ancient knowledge in the present day whilst remembering our foundations that lie deep within antiquity. Richard graduated from Salford University with a BSc in Biological Sciences in 1998 and continued with his artistic vocation by integrating his knowledge of organic life and nature with art. The study of organic life as living symbols and the exploration of nature with application to all of its forms remains paramount in the artist's work and allows for a unique perspective where science, art and mysticism are co-expressed in complimentary existence. Richard has been working from Rogue Artists Studios since 2010 and is available for commissions.
