A new exhibition at Waterside Arts Centre, Sale

A new exhibition showcasing work from Rogue Artists Studios comes to Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, Greater Manchester this summer to celebrate Rogue’s 21st birthday.

Rogue at Waterside will feature a range of large scale and intimate pieces in different mediums by over 35 Rogue artists including paintings, digital work, an installation, photography and mixed media, displayed in Waterside’s three gallery spaces, celebrating 21 years of the largest independent studio groups in the North West.

Rogue is a not-for-profit artists studios, with 97 artists ranging from recent graduates to established practitioners, working in a wide range of disciplines and media including drawing, film and video, illustration, installation, interactive art, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and textiles.  Rogue will be relocating in 2017, and this exhibition will be a timely opportunity to celebrate the first 21 years of one of the UK’s leading artists’ studio groups.

Kelda Savage, Curator says: “Rogue Artists self-selected their pieces to show at Waterside and the exhibition will demonstrate a wide range of styles, subjects and media. We are thrilled to be able to offer an exhibition opportunity to Rogue Artists in their 21st year.

Co-Director of Rogue, artist David Gledhill, says: ‘We are delighted to be working with Waterside Arts Centre on this exhibition which will be a fantastic opportunity for audiences to see the breadth of talent and diversity of work in the Studios – from digital to painting and drawing, from mixed media to installation and photography.’

Timed with the exhibition is the last of Rogues Open Studio events at Crusader Mill which will take place Friday 14 Sunday 16 October. The event invites audiences to access all areas of the studios gaining a glimpse into where the creative process takes place, while affording member artists an opportunity to exhibit and offer work for sale.

Rogue at Waterside runs from Saturday 23 July until 22 October 2016 daily from 10am – 5pm.
