Rebecca Davy

Rebecca Davy is a Manchester based artist, graduating in 2003 with a BA (Hons) Fine Art Painting degree from Manchester Metropolitan University, and an MA in Fine Art in 2006. Her early exhibitions include Northern Graduates 03 at the New Academy & Curwen in London, and later took part in the ‘Young Gods’ show at the Clapham art Gallery where her work was described as “eerie and strangely appealing.” Rebecca’s primary subject is painting, the seductiveness and sensuousness of pushing paint on canvas. The imagery she uses, whether people, places, or objects, are chosen in order for her to arrange a composition that is full of luminosity, light, and colour.
