Established in 1995, Rogue is an artist-run Community Interest Company providing accessible studio space close to Manchester city centre. Rogue is the largest independent studio group in the North West with more than 85 artists working in 57,000 square feet of space at the former Varna Street school buildings in Openshaw. Studio holders range from recent graduates to established practitioners working in a wide range of disciplines and media including drawing, film and video, illustration, installation, interactive art, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and textiles.
Once a year, Rogue opens its doors to the public for its Open Studios event, inviting fellow artists, curators and the general public to access all areas of the studios while affording members an opportunity to exhibit and offer work for sale. The next Rogue Open Studios will be on October 5-6, 2024, with an opening party on Saturday October 5 from 2-5pm.
Rogue also runs a programme of events in the Project Space, which is used primarily for temporary exhibitions, residency and exchange projects and one-off events. For news of forthcoming exhibitions see the home page of this website or email rogueartistsstudios@yahoo.co.uk and sign up for our monthly e-newsletter.
All studio applications and general enquiries should be addressed to David Gledhill and Martin Nash (co-directors) and sent to rogueartistsstudios@yahoo.co.uk
