Four weeks of artists moving image, experimental film and performances featuring local and international artists. From archive works to film premieres, 16mm exhibition and live sound scapes, digital experiments and analogue shorts, plus some never-before seen works by independent american film-maker George Kuchar.<\/p>\n

All events take place at ROGUE CINEMA<\/a> \u2013 a temporary cinema installation in Rogue Artists\u2019 Studios, Manchester.<\/p>\n

A 16mm screening of works by Simon Liu, who grew up in Hong Kong and Stoke-on-Trent and currently works as a filmmaker based in Brooklyn, and James Snazell – 16mm film-maker and lecturer at Edge Hill University.<\/i><\/span>

A rare two-part screening of the visual diaries of the renowned American independent filmmaker George Kuchar, bringing together his series of films known as the Weather Diaries for the first time in the UK as part of a special touring programme put together by Chris Dymond.<\/i><\/span>

Sun 5th March 7:00pm – ACTION SPACE<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
A film by Huw Wahl. Founded in 1968, Action Space used large inflatable structures to create alternative spaces for art, education and creative play outside of the restrictive gallery arena. This film explores the history of Action Space through the construction of a new inflatable. <\/i><\/span><\/div>\n

Fri 10th March 8:00pm – LORD MONGO, TUSKMOTH & NICK JORDAN<\/b><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n
The masked, straw-festooned shamanic vagabond Lord Mongo and new-fangled three-piece band Tuskmoth perform live music to cinema<\/span>tic visuals by Nick Jordan, assembled from the artist\u2019s recent film works that feature Lord Mongo\u2019s soundtrack scores; including excerpts from Jordan\u2019s new film Thought Broadcasting (2017), plus The Rising (2014), The Atom Station (2015), and MERZMONGO (2016) \u2013 which was originally made for \u2018100 Years of Dada: Film is Dead, Long Live Dada\u2019 (ICA, London) and performed live at Supernormal Festival 2016.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

An illuminating a distinctly northern perspective on the history of artists\u2019 moving image in England. The project surveys an array of production strategies deployed by video artists and filmmakers across Yorkshire and the Humber, the North East and Cumbria from the \u201860s to the early 2000s.<\/i><\/span><\/div>\n
