James M-Hiskett is a recent graduate of BA Fine Art from Manchester School of Art. He lives a practises in Manchester. He engages in a multidisciplinary practise which utilises a range of media to question the role of the artist. Labour, the act of making, or the translation of an idea to an audience, all become the focus of works in turn. As an extension of this idea, the performance like nature of art making is explored, as opposed to making art that is performance. The tradition and form of monochrome painting is often used as a visual motif to present ideas. Concepts for works are questions asked; the outcomes aiming to engage the viewer to suggest answers.
